ABOUT ME

Hello!
My name is Maryanna Tollemache, and I'm an autistic actor, singer, dancer, director, puppeteer currently based in New York City! I was born and raised in Austin, Texas where I fell in love with the vibrant arts scene, dabbling in other medias (printmaking and film primarily) before honing in on theatre.
I've recently graduated from Marymount Manhattan College, where I received my BFA Musical Theatre and BA Theatre Arts: Directing. When not performing or directing, I can be found working with K-5th graders in afterschool programs, updating my Letterboxd, or deep into a book!
(currently reading: Uncanny Valley Girls: Essays on Horror, Survival, and Love by Zefyr Lisowski)
While attending Marymount Manhattan College, I found myself in multiple Disability Studies courses that ultimately changed my life as a disabled artist! I love to play with and explore pieces engaged in disability canon, or even what it could look like to add a disability lens to shows without one already. I pride myself on my continuation of Disability Studies outside of school, pushing for Disability Representation and Equality, and being the autistic artist I wanted to see growing up.
P.S. That's child me! We diggin' the pink boots or what?

What's Next?

Starting this January, I will be on TheatreWorksUSA's 2026 spring tour of The Pout Pout Fish! I will be playing Ms. Clam/Octopus and the Puppet Captain! I will also be the emergency cover for Pout Pout Fish and Shimmerfish.

Starting January 20th, I'll be traveling across the United States. Keep the lookout on my Instagram (@maryannatollemache) for if I'm in a city near you!
